Memberships

The 2019/20 membership registration is underway. There is usually room for some snowbird (part season) registrations later through the winter, in some leagues. Contact us for information about late registrations.

Our club features a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Membership dues are payable annually in September, and discounts are allowed for voting members, couples, and first time members. Snowbird (partial) memberships are available for those who travel for a significant portion of the winter.

We offer a 7 week long Instructional League, which meets Wednesdays from 5:00-6:30 pm. This is a great way for newer curlers to receive professional instruction in the skills, safety issues, and strategies of the game.

Bonspiels

Club Bonspiels open to guests are listed on the OCA web site. If you need an entry form for one of our bonspiels, they can be found by clicking on any of the links below, or by emailing our Operations Manager and we’ll be happy to send you one.

Our season begins with the Hunter’s Bonspiel in late November. In January, the Men will take to the ice on the 11 for the Molsons, while the Ladies’ play on the 18th in the Ladies’ Bonspiel

February features two events with a regional theme – a two day mixed event sponsored by the Muskoka Lakes Association and a three day Men’s Muskoka Lakes event two weeks later. The Men’s event sends curlers to various clubs in the region with the finals back at South Muskoka in Bracebridge. It’s a great way to make new friends and a real test of how well you can adapt to the different ice conditions and speeds. Teams in this event are encouraged to include at least one beginner or new curler.

We have also added a Mixed Doubles Bonspiel on March 21st sponsored by Hurry Hard and Van Schyndel Greenhouses.

Our famous Spring Fling occurs in early April and gives the Ladies a great weekend of fun and frivolity while raising funds for charity. This year’s date is Saturday April 6th.

To sign up for a bonspiel or to get further information you can contact our Operations Manager Sarah Steeves at (705) 645-4221 ext. 6, our General Manager Mark DeActis at (705) 645-4221 Ext 3, or our Office Administrator Teresa Wheeler at (705) 645-4221 Ext 4. All dates for the current season are on the calendar at the home page of this website.

Leagues

We have a complete spectrum of curling leagues, from fun and relaxed to very competitive. Whether you want to win the Provincials or you just want to play and socialize, we have a league for you. We offer a special low membership rate for your first year, and a great discount again in your second year as a member of our Club.

Each Fall, in the weeks leading up to the beginning of the season, instructional clinics are provided free of charge. These clinics let new curlers try the game and receive coaching before deciding whether to register for the season. We also offer a 7 week Instructional or Novice League to give new curlers a good grounding in fundamentals and strategy, and enhance their enjoyment  of the game. This League will take to the ice Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:30 pm.

For details and registration information, please contact us.
